- 1) a self-healing system that has the ability to detect and automatically compensate for problems; 2) a robot, vehicle, etc. that senses its environment and has the ability to make decisions and take action in pursuit of its objectives; 3) an Internet Autonomous System is a collection of IP networks and routers that presents a common routing policy to the Internet and is assigned an AS Number by IANA.
