- (ESB), a software architecture where a standards-based messaging engine (the bus) provides the foundation for multiple event-driven applications running on multiple computers, possibly at multiple locations. Frequently used for Enterprise Application Integration and may use Web Services, MQ or Middleware to create the bus.
