OSI Model
Open Systems Interconnection Model, OSI Reference Model, or ISO 7498, a common way of describing communications and computer network protocols that divides protocols into seven layers, sometimes called a protocol stack. As shown in Fig. 6: OSI Model, the layers are (starting from the bottom) Physical, Data Link, Network Layer, Transport, Session, Presentation, and Application.
