Refrigerant

Refrigerant
a chemical compound used in a heat cycle where is undergoes a phase change from a gas to a liquid and back to gas; the refrigerant absorbs heat by evaporating at a low pressure and it gives up heat by condensing at a higher pressure. Each refrigerant is assigned an R-Number for identification, see Fig. 3: Chemical Refrigerants for examples.
