Solar Heat Gain Coefficient
(SHGC), the fraction of solar radiation admitted through a window, door, or skylight and subsequently released as heat inside. Low SHGC glazing transmits less solar heat and reduces cooling loads; high SHGC glazing is more effective at collecting solar heat.
